Terms of use
Last updated 25 October 2026
The agreement between you and us when you use TestReady by Nexus. Plain English, no surprises. By creating an account you agree to these terms.
Who we are
TestReady by Nexus is run by [COMPANY LEGAL NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. Contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL].
What you get
Practice and mock tests for IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, the Oxford ELLT and the Duolingo English Test, lessons, a study plan, progress tracking, and marking of your writing and speaking by our AI examiner. Learning is part of Premium, which includes up to 150 AI assessments a month under fair use. Prices and what Premium includes are on the pricing page. Without a trial or plan you can still use your account, settings and the public pages.
AI scores are estimates
Scores and feedback come from an AI examiner trained to follow each test’s public marking criteria. They are estimates, not official scores, and they can be wrong. Your real result can be higher or lower. Don’t rely on our scores alone for decisions such as booking a test, applying to a university or submitting a visa application.
We are not the test owners
TestReady by Nexus is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to IELTS (British Council, IDP or Cambridge), Pearson (PTE), ETS (TOEFL), Oxford International (ELLT) or Duolingo. Test names and trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to say which test our practice is for. Our questions are written by us to match each test’s published format; they are not real past papers.
Your account
- You must be 13 or older and give a real name and an email address you can access. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms and to any payment.
- One account per person. Keep your password private; you are responsible for what happens on your account.
- Tell us straight away at [CONTACT EMAIL] if you think someone else has used it.
- You can delete your account at any time from your account page.
Acceptable use
Please don’t:
- share your account, or resell or give away access to Premium;
- copy, scrape or republish our questions, lessons or model answers;
- submit work that isn’t yours, or content that is illegal, abusive or someone else’s personal data;
- try to get around usage limits, break or overload the site, or reach parts of it you aren’t meant to;
- upload fake or altered payment receipts.
If you do, we may suspend or close your account. Where the breach is serious (for example a fake receipt) we won’t refund you.
Your work
Your essays and recordings stay yours. You give us permission to store, transcribe and mark them and to show them back to you. How we handle them is in our privacy policy.
Free trial
- New learners can try Premium free for 7 days. To start it you add a card through Stripe or Safepay; nothing is charged during the trial.
- Before you start, checkout shows the date and amount of your first payment. Unless you cancel before that date, the first month is charged when the trial ends and the same amount every month after, until you cancel.
- Cancel any time from your account page. Cancel during the trial and you are never charged; your access ends when the trial would have ended.
- One free trial per person and per card. If we find a second trial (for example a new account with a card already used for one), the trial ends and the first payment is taken straight away, or the trial is closed.
- Bank transfer, JazzCash and Easypaisa have no trial: Premium starts once your payment is confirmed.
Your right to cancel
You have 14 days from starting your trial (or from buying, if you pay without a trial) to change your mind. At checkout you ask us to give you access straight away and tick a box to confirm it. If you cancel within those 14 days, nothing more is charged, and if a payment has already been taken in that time we refund it in full. This is on top of your other rights as a consumer.
Payments, cancelling and refunds
How plans renew, how to cancel and when you can get your money back are set out on our payments and refunds page, which is part of these terms.
Our responsibility to you
We work hard to keep TestReady by Nexus available and accurate, but we can’t promise it will never be down or that every question or mark is free of mistakes. We are not responsible for your result in a real test, or for decisions others make about you based on it. Nothing here limits our liability where the law says it can’t be limited, including your rights as a consumer. Otherwise our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. We’ll change the date at the top and, for changes that matter, email you before they apply. If you don’t agree you can stop using TestReady by Nexus and cancel any renewal.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of [GOVERNING LAW, e.g. England and Wales], and disputes go to [COURTS, e.g. the courts of England and Wales]. If you live elsewhere you keep any consumer protections the law of your country gives you. Please talk to us first at [CONTACT EMAIL]: most problems are sorted quickly.
